A bittersweet retirement ceremony has been held in Mackay for a Central Queensland police dog.
The four-legged hero Griffon has been celebrated for his commitment, courage and and loyalty to the Mackay Whitsunday and Capricornia districts.
Griffin has spent the last few years serving in the Mackay and Whitsunday district, after graduating from Brisbane in 2017 and being posted to Rockhampton for three years.

Police say he will continue the journey of life with his best mate and handler, Sergeant Jacob Bates.
