A 20-year-old man has been charged over the alleged murder of a 10-week-old baby girl in Gracemere.
Around 11.15pm on January 19, emergency services were called to a Gracemere property to reports an infant was unconscious and not breathing.
The child sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Rockhampton Base Hospital before being airlifted to Brisbane, but died days later on January 22.
Following investigations, detectives from Rockhampton Child Protection Investigation Unit and specialist police from Crime and Intelligence Command’s Child Trauma Unit arrested and charged a man overnight.
The 20-year-old Rockhampton man has been charged with one count of murder (domestic violence offence).
He faced the Rockhampton Magistrates Court yesterday and the matter has been adjourned for three weeks.
