Four boys arrested following alleged crime spree

Four boys have been charged over a series of alleged property and stolen vehicle offences across the Rockhampton region.

Sometime between midnight and 5am on Sunday, February 16, four teenage boys allegedly broke into a residence on Dean Street, Frenchville, and stole a white MG station wagon.

Around 1.40am on Monday, February 17, police were called to a service station on Albert Street, Rockhampton City, following reports the same group had broken in and stolen lighters and food, before fleeing in the stolen MG.

A short time later around 2am, the group allegedly broke into a post office on the corner of North Street and Quarry Street, The Range before also breaking into a service station on Thozet Road, Koongal less than 30 minutes later.

Police say the boys used crowbars to get into the business, and stole the contents of a charity box, along with lollies, sunglasses and phone chargers.

Following investigations, police located and arrested four boys later that day.

A 15-year-old Berserker boy has been charged with two counts of enter premises and commit and one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, enter dwelling and commit and breach of bail.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear in Rockhampton Childrens Court on February 25.

A 15-year-old Woorabinda boy has been charged with three counts of enter premises and commit, two counts of breach of bail and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to be mentioned in Rockhampton Childrens Court on March 11.

A 14-year-old Woorabinda boy was charged with three counts of enter premises and commit, and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He is due to reappear in Rockhampton Childrens Court on February 25.

A 15-year-old Frenchville boy has been charged with three counts of enter premises and commit by break, two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of stealing.

He is due to appear in Rockhampton Childrens Court on March 11.

The stolen MG has since been located.
