Man who ran from police twice charged with property, drug offences

A Tannum Sands man been charged with several offences committed in Gladstone after running from police twice.

It’s alleged the 34-year-old broke into a business on Crow Street last Friday.

Police say they located him at Barney Point on Sunday and when they told him he was under arrest, a foot chase ensued.

The man was charged with one count each of enter premises with intent, unlawful possession of suspected stolen property and obstruct police.

It’s then alleged he attempted to break into a home on Aukland Street, early yesterday morning.

The man ran from police and a foot chase ensued before the man was apprehended.

It will be further alleged upon a search of the man, police located a clip-sealed bag containing methylamphetamine and a clip-sealed bag containing residue and a straw.

He has been charged with one count each of possess dangerous drugs, possess property suspected of being used in a drug offence and obstruct police.

He is scheduled to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court on October 30.
